Information regarding free school meals

Important information for parents regarding free school meals;

Due to the high volume of demand, the DfE have not been able to supply the free school meal vouchers as yet. The order has been placed so eventually, if you have supplied and email address you will receive an electronic voucher for £15 per child along with a list of shops where this can be spent. If you do not have an email address or have not supplied one then you will receive a voucher in the post with a named shop where this can be spent. This is the National way of doing this and the school has had no say in it. If you have not already done so and can supply an email address this will be much easier for you as you will not be at the whim of the postal service!

As a contingency, Liverpool Authority have agreed to supply vouchers while we are waiting for the order to be filled, to the value of £10 per child. Hopefully we will be able to collect these later today and these will be put in the post for you. They were promised yesterday so I cannot be certain we will have them today. As soon as we do have them we will post them out to you.

I can only apologise on behalf of the DfE and the authority and hope this will sort itself out soon. I have spent hours trying to get the DfE site to accept the order for our school so totally understand your frustration at the delay. On a good note, I have managed to get next weeks order accepted already so hopefully this will be on time.

I hope you are keeping well and safe and look forward to getting our school family back together as soon as is safe to do so.
