Remote Learning
Here at Wellesbourne we are committed to making sure our online, blended learning (also known as home learning) is of the same quality as our in class learning.

As per government guidelines, school has been considering its approach to ‘blended learning’; this is where learning takes place both at home and in school. The guidance says that if a child cannot attend school because they are isolating or asymptomatic, school still has a responsibility to provide them with an education.
These are the two online platforms that we use within our school.
In EYFS we use tapestry to create learning logs for each of our children so parents can see what their child has been up to during their school day. We also use this to send homework to our children or work to children who may be off from school for what ever reason.

In KS1 and KS2 we use Seesaw to create learning journals for our children. These can include pictures of work they have done in school and uploaded, work or activities they have done at home and want to show their teacher. We also use this to send digital homework, work for children who may not be in and reminders to the children of anything that may be going on that week in school.

Your child’s class teacher will have their log in code for their Tapestry or Seesaw account. If you are struggling to access the work please speak to your class teacher and they will advise you further.
Both apps can be accessed via computer, laptop, tablet or phone.

If a class or bubble were to be sent home to isolate they will be given a google classroom log in. This is so during the 2 week isolation period they can have a face to face meeting with their teacher and classmates each morning to catch up and possibly go through any work they may have not understood that was set for them on seesaw.
Apps for parents
For our parents to keep in contact and up to date with information we use the parentapp app. To access this you are sent an invitation via email from the school, this then allows you to create an account. Once created you will then receive all up to date notifications to your device or email, digital copies of letters, newsletters and important information.
If you are struggling to get onto the app please arrange a phone call meeting with Miss Parr on either a Monday afternoon or Friday morning and she will gladly assist.

As a school we have a subscription to Oxford Owl Read at Home. Your children will have been given a log in and will be assigned books to read based upon their reading level in school. Please encourage your child to read for at least 20 mins per day. For further information on using the website please Click Here to see our parent guide.
Below you will find our remote learning policy and learning contracts which have been signed by both the children and their parents/carers to agree to the rules set out in accessing the online learning platforms.
